Ministry of Science and Innovation Appointments – CoRE Directors’ to Science Board

Two prominent CoRE Directors have been appointed to the newly formed Science Board for the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Professor Charles Royal (Director of Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga and Chair of Indigenous Development in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland and Professor Richard Blaikie (Director of the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Canterbury) join the seven-strong group which will allocate science funding to research organisations and be key players in the Government’s reforms to improve the science and innovation system.

Both Professor Royal and Professor Blaikie have been appointed for a two-year period.
